kat_on_table: (head go boom)
Is Batman Beyond just not destined for a decent mini-series?

The art's nowhere near the canon of the original DCAU or previous comic series, Bruce is an out-of-character douche, and "Hush" is a bad retread of Return of the Joker seems like a riff from Waller's "Batman Beyond" program gone bad. Which doesn't sound so bad.

I refuse to believe that the story is really just that gimmicky and stupid. Maybe "Hush" is just another failed or iced experiment, or a copycat, or a clone, or Terry's exhaustion and lack of sleep has finally gotten the best of him.

Upon closer inspection, "Hush" does appear to be a copy or clone - he's too young to be who he claims to be. O-kay... well, Waller has done funky stuff with hero DNA. *coughTERRYcough* At least that's consistent. But it still feels like ROTJ again.... Going to see where they're taking the clone/copy thing in the last 2 issues for this mini-series.

*throws hands up*

I'd be ranting in detail, if it weren't for my schedule and lack of knowledge of DW's cut text tags. Slightly mollified now, but

Stop ruining Batman Beyond already. Feel free to reveal the redeeming plot twist anytime, writers.
